On my first ever trip to Denver, we wanted a hotel with a great location to provide a base for exploring the city. We landed on the Kimpton Hotel Born, located in the LoDo neighborhood, that just opened its doors in August 2017.
Read about my experience staying at the Kimpton Hotel below!
– The Hotel –
The boutique hotel chain has become known for their bold and playful designs in over 30 cities across the US. Hotel Born follows the same design approach but this time with a cozy Colorado spin described as ‘alpine modern luxury.’ The hotel has over 200 rooms and suites and is located right next to Union Station making it the perfect place to explore more of the city.
– The Rooms –
The rooms have been thoughtfully designed and are stocked with the best amenities to have you feeling at home in no time. In fact, I came down a with a cold during my stay and was so happy to have a room that had everything I needed – including one of the most comfortable beds!
The rooms also feature floor to ceiling windows to provide views of the mountains or cityscape so you can soak in those Denver views!
Even the hotel’s amenities encourage you to get outdoors and enjoy Colorado – guests can use the hotel’s complimentary bicycles, there is a yoga mat provided in each room and you’ll have access to the Colorado Athletic Club.

– Food & Drink –
Hotel Born has two restaurants onsite: Citizen Rail and Tavernetta. Citizen Rail is located just off the main lobby and serves up modern American fare like bone-in short rib and Maine lobster accompanied with Colorado craft beers. It’s open from breakfast through dinner for all your dining needs during your stay!
Tavernetta, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, is actually located adjacent to the hotel and unfortunately was fully booked during our stay… We heard that the pasta dishes were amazing though!
– Location –
Located right next to Union Station, the hotel is easily accessible from the airport by train and is ideally located for exploring LoDo and beyond. Plus, Union Station has become a hot spot for dining as well as a hangout — stop by for a coffee and lounge or explore one of the many restaurants!
