Stuck at home and wondering what you’re going to do to pass the time? If you’re longing to travel but have to be cooped up at home, I know it can be difficult to stay positive and productive… So, I’ve rounded up some items that will help you stay entertained during self-isolation!
Here are some things to buy for your self-isolation survival kit!
Focus on Self-Care
When I have some extended time at home, I really enjoy taking a nice bubble bath and focusing on my health, skin and beauty routine. Here are some items that can help you upgrade your self-care routine so you can take care of yourself and unwind.
- Bubble bath necessities: There’s nothing more relaxing that a warm soak in the tub! For the perfect bubble bath, don’t forget scented bubbles, a bathtub caddy (for your book and wine of course!) and a super comfy robe.
- Oil diffuser: Don’t underestimate the power of scent! Opt for a soothing oil like lavender or eucalyptus for ultimate relaxation.
- Skin Care: Spending time at home means you have plenty of time to focus on your skincare routine. My absolutely favorite items are the Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel, and Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel packettes.
- Hair Care: I always try to keep my hair moisturized and healthy — and this argan oil hair mask does the trick!
- Gel Nail Kit: I recently bought my own at-home gel nail kit and I’m obsessed! It’s so easy to do your own nails and fun to try out different colors without having to make a trip to the salon.
- Journal: Writing can be very therapeutic! When I have time, I like to write morning pages or jot down thoughts during the day.
- Cozy loungewear: Even if you’re stuck at home, it’s nice to change out of your pajamas and into a cute loungewear set! I recently bought these cozy slippers and am OBSESSED — it’s like walking on a cloud!
Now is the time to go eco-friendly!
If you’ve been looking to switch to a more eco-friendly lifestyle but felt overwhelmed with all the options, here are some easy ways you can start to swap out your products for more sustainable ones.
- Almond Cow: I absolutely love making my own nut and oat milks at home with the Almond Cow and I’ve cut down on waste (no more milk cartons!).
- Washable ‘Unpaper’ Towels: Swap your paper towels for these and reduce your waste. Just throw them in the wash and they’re ready to use again!
- Reusable Silicon Food Storage Bags: Instead of traditional plastic Ziploc bags, use this eco-friendly food grade silicon bags for food storage. The best part is that they are dishwasher safe so you can just wash and reuse.
- Toilet bidet: Ditch the toilet paper and opt for this easy-to-use toilet attachment!
- Thinx: These super absorbent undies can hold up to 8 tsp of liquid so are a great replacement for pantyliners and tampons! They keep you dry, reduce waste and save you money over time — I love mine!
Stay entertained with board games and puzzles
Put the screens away and try out a new board game or puzzle! We can only watch so much Netflix, right? Here are some of my favorite board games and some puzzles to try out.
- Board games: If you’re looking for some fun games to play, try Codenames, Exploring Kittens, Catan, or What Do You Meme? or the classic, Scrabble!
- Puzzles: There are so many fun puzzles out there, like these puzzles for Friend’s fans, Star War’s fans, and Harry Potter fans — or try this beautiful puzzle by Gray Malin!
