After visiting our first stop in Thailand (Ao Nang), we headed south to Koh Lanta. While many places in Thailand are overrun by tourism, Koh Lanta is still a beautiful and somewhat untouched island paradise. It’s filled with lush jungles and long, beautiful beaches with a laid-back island vibe where everything seems to move at a slower pace.

We stayed at the beautiful Anda Lanta resort on Klong Jark beach in the southern part of the island. We found that the farther south you go, the more beautiful the beaches. Our beach cove was practically deserted except for a few cute island bars with volleyball, friendly Thai people and Chang beers. We also fell in love with the beach cove next to ours, Bamboo Bay. Similarly, there were very few people, beautiful beaches, kayaks and laid-back beach bars.
After a few days exploring our beautiful island paradise by scooter, we decided to take a boat trip to some of the nearby islands. We landed on Koh Ngai, Koh Muk and Koh Kraden. These islands seemed even more remote than Koh Lanta! The white sand and blue water was picture perfect. We ended the day by exploring Emerald Cave, a secret lagoon hidden in the island of Koh Muk (pictured above). Perfect ending to our island hopping day!
