Korčula has been nicknamed ‘Little Dubrovnik” as its a small, medieval walled city with tons of history and charm. We spent the day exploring the maze of cobblestone streets in the Old Town, enjoying the sea views and learning about the town’s history.
Here’s how to spend one day in Korčula, Croatia!
Explore the Old Town
The Old Town is made of up narrow passageways that branch off of the main street in a fishbone shape — this design was used to protect the town from wind and storms. Spend the day exploring the town, shops and cute cafes.
Another popular spot in town is the Marco Polo museum — did you know that Korčula is believed to be the birthplace of Marco Polo?!
Climb to the Top of St Mark’s Cathedral Bell Tower
This magnificent 15th-century church is located right in the center of the Old Town and the beautiful tower dominates the town’s skyline.
And, you can even climb the steps to the top of St. Mark’s Cathedral bell tower for incredible panoramic views of the town and sea!
Grab Drinks at Massimo Cocktail Bar
Located in one of the town wall’s turrets, Massimo Cocktail Bar is one of the most unique places I’ve been! To get there, you have to climb a ladder (ladies, maybe rethink that short dress for this one!) and once you’re at the top, there are sea views on one side and Old Town views on the other.
I’d recommend going just before sunset to enjoy a drink or two while watching the sun set!
Dine at LD Restaurant
After you’ve worked up an appetite exploring Korčula, get ready for an incredible dining experience at LD Restaurant.
