With festival season right around the corner (okay, basically here!), I’ve been seeing so many festival-inspired trends: fringe, lace, crochet, embroidery, floral and of course, the flower crowns. I’ve been to a few festivals in the past few years – Coachella, HARD, Life is Beautiful, and there are so many others that I’d like to go to (doesn’t it seem like there is a new one popping up every other week?!). A staple at most festivals is the flower crown [insert the celebration / hand praising emoji here]. In the past, I’ve worn gold head pieces or faux crowns, but this year I decided to try making my own! I purchased a beautiful bouquet of flowers from a local farmer’s market, cut roses from the garden, and strung them around wire and – VOILA, flower crown. I was very happy with the results! The floral dress and lace kimono were very easy and comfortable – you have to remember that comfort is key at festivals. And secondly, festivals can be HOT! Make sure to layer – it can be over 100 degrees in the day, and get preeeetty chilly at night. Being in the desert all day is tiring, a purse that you can throw over your shoulder is ideal (read: clutches not recommended), and I’m totally in love with bucket bags right now (bucket bag post coming soon!). And, of course, a good festival look is incomplete without accessories. I’ve added some gold Nissa Jewelry pieces and flash tats for a bit of fun 🙂
Who will be out in the desert this weekend or next?!
