If you’ve heard of Sketch in London before, an all pink tea room is probably popping into your head. But, did you know that Sketch is actually comprised of four different restaurants? Along with its iconic pink tea room, Sketch London’s grand three-story Georgian townhouse is home to four distinct concepts: The Gallery, The Lecture Room & Library, The Parlour and The Glade.
Here’s my experience dining at Sketch Lecture Room & Library!
About Sketch Lecture Room & Library
What almost feels worlds away from the famously quirky tea room, Sketch Lecture Room & Library is a three-star Michelin restaurant set in an elegant dining room with opulent decor.
From restauranteur Mourad Mazouz and Chef Pierre Gagnaire, Sketch Lecture Room & Library offers sophisticated French cuisine with elegant presentations from a highly attentive staff.
If you’re looking for an enchanting, elevated dining experience for a special occasion, I highly recommend Sketch Lecture Room & Library!

The Dining Experience at Sketch Lecture Room & Library
After gawking at the gorgeous, palatial dining room, we were given menus and a very long wine list (or rather a wine book!). There are several set menu options (one with fish and meat, and the other vegetarian) as well as a la carte options for starters and entrees.
What I found interesting was that each menu item came with 3 – 4 unique dishes so even if you only ordered a starter and an entree, you would get to try 6 – 8 different dishes!
This worked out well as some of our group ordered the set menu and some ordered the a la carte — so it never felt like one person had an uneven number of courses.
Dish after dish, each of us were continuously delighted!
For dessert, we had the option to choose from a selection of cheeses or several chocolate desserts, several fruit based desserts, or “The Grand Dessert”: six courses of scrumptious desserts!

- Dress smart. There is a smart dress code with gentlemen required to wear jackets.
- Allow some time to take a peek around. If you have time before your meal, stop by The Parlour or The Glade for a cocktail to check out their stunning decor!
