As a food lover, I’m always asking around about the best places to dine when visiting a new place. Greek food is one of my favorites – I just love the fresh vegetables, olive oil and cheeses used in many of their dishes! Since Greece is large country, the food can vary greatly by region. Read all about our experience at Salis below!
– The Location –
Situated directly on the harbor in downtown Chania, the location truly cannot be beat. Along with its beautiful and modern interior, Salis has plenty of outdoor seating where you can watch the boats go in and out of the harbor and people strolling along the wharf.
It’s the perfect place to dine for lunch or dinner with stunning harbor views!
– The Food –
Salis prides itself on exclusively using locally sourced ingredients from farms on Crete and updating traditional recipes with a modern flair.
As soon as we sat down and looked over the menu, we knew that this would not be similar to the experiences we’d had at many of the traditional tavernas around Greece.
While there were items like the traditional Cretan salad and chicken souvlaki, we noticed items like the ‘grilled lamb chops from Kalathas Beach’ and the ‘deconstructed pastitsio with wild truffle with Agios Nikolaos’ and knew we were in for a special meal.
