Spending time in New York City is a unique experience – each part of the city is so different from the next that you can feel like you are in a different city altogether. From the string-light lit patios in Brooklyn to the high-rises of Mid-town to the lush greenery of the park, New York has it all.
Planning a quick trip to the city? While you could actually spend weeks exploring NYC and still not see everything, there are some definite can’t-be-missed spots.
Here’s the ultimate guide to New York City in a weekend!
DAY 1
STOP 1: Cha Cha Matcha – this place has become Insta famous… And yes, the matcha is delicious! Their matcha latte is wonderful and they even have matcha soft serve. Grab a tea here before starting your adventure through the city!
STOP 2: Nolita – Take a stroll around the picturesque streets of this little but vibrant neighborhood and check out the stylish boutiques, art galleries and restaurants.
STOP 3: Tacombi – Hungry for lunch? Grab some tacos (try the cochinita pibil, just like the ones we had in Tulum!) and margs at this kitschy spot. This place has such a cool Mexican street style vibe with string lights and a retro VW bus as a taco stand inside!
STOP 4: Washington Square Park – rent some Citi Bikes and bike down to Washington Square Park for a relaxing afternoon of hanging out on the grass, catching some live music and excellent people watching.
STOP 5: Brooklyn – End your day with a trip over to Brooklyn for sunset! Make a dinner reservation at Celestine around golden hour to enjoy incredible views of Manhattan with delicious Mediterranean fare.
DAY 2
STOP 1: Top of the Rock – Start your morning off bright and early (beating the crowds!) at this rooftop observation deck for some of the best views in the city.
STOP 2: Jack’s Wife Freda – Head to brunch at this amazing West Village spot, and make sure to try the shakshouka!
STOP 3: SoHo – Explore one of my favorite areas for prime shopping.
STOP 4: Momofuku Milk Bar – Pop by this award-winning bakery and get the cereal milk soft serve. YUM!

STOP 6:The Lobby Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental – After spending some time relaxing in the park, head up to the The Lobby Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental for some fancy cocktails and unbelievable views of the park and city!
